Hi Patti,
Yes I think Trigger chose me too :-)
Smart horses tend to get bored with doing the usual things and this can sometimes lead to them developing nuisance habits. Tricks are a great way to keep their brains active and for them (and you) to really enjoy the time you spend together. Every week you can be trying something different. After years of teaching tricks I am still coming up with fun things to do with Trigger - it's endless really :-)
Your new horse sounds a natural. Willing to learn and quick to catch on. She will really benefit from some trick training :-)

Hello,
I recently acquired a new horse. Large paint mare. She was at a horse dealer in our area. My friends asked me if I had ever been there. I said no, but had a horse for many years now that originally came from there so let's go...There were lots of horses there. I wasn't in the market for a new horse as I already have 4. I promise you, I DID NOT CHOOSE THIS HORSE. SHE CHOSE ME! Well, I spoke to the old owner of this mare, Pep, and he told me she was his trail horse. Nothing more, nothing less, but a good trail horse. We began working with her on the ground and I discovered that she is extremely smart, a good thinker, a people horse, picks everything up quickly and retains it all! I have a special horse here....
Today, I did the treat between her front legs to bow thing. She went for it with no reservation. After a few times, I simply reached between her front legs and down she went. I want to teach her tricks....Can you help?

I have a horse that needs a job. I want to teach him to be a trick horse. I don't know where to start, can you help me. His name is Jasper and he is 6 years old and ex-race horse.
What do I need to start and what tricks do I start him on.
I live in the mid part of North Carolina today we are getting a lot of rain form the hurricane that hit in florida. It is to bad to work outside so I am on the computer.
